Frequently asked questions

Answers before you book.

What to bring, which route to choose and what happens next.

What do I need to bring with me on the day?

Bring photo ID and any qualifications or cards linked to your course. For practical sessions, you will need suitable work clothes and personal protective equipment (PPE). We will confirm what to bring when you book.

What’s the difference between a novice, experienced and refresher course?

A novice route is for people with little or no experience. An experienced route is for people who already have the skills and practice needed for the test. A refresher helps people update existing skills or prepare for renewal.

Will I receive a recognised qualification or card?

The award or card depends on your course and route. We list the course group with each course. Ask us to confirm the award and any entry requirements before booking.

Can you provide training at our workplace or site?

Some courses can take place at your site. We need to check the space, equipment and conditions first. Contact us to discuss what your team needs.

What happens if I don’t pass the course or assessment?

Your trainer will explain what you need to work on and help you choose the next step. You may need more practice or another assessment. This depends on the course and your result.
